Adult Mental Health Programs

Thrive offers a range of services for the unique needs of Kent County residents 18 years or older. Services are delivered in-person, in the community, or through tele-health. 

Adult Outpatient Services

The Adult Outpatient Program provides individual, family, and couples counseling services through a hybrid delivery system including in-person and telehealth appointments. Clinicians are trained in person-centered care and practice evidence-based interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI) to assist clients in reaching their personal goals.

Community Support Program (CSP)

The Community Support Program (CSP) helps to keep those who are diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness on a path to recovery. Our Integrated Home Health (IHH) and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams meet clients where they are, offering holistic, person-centered care. Both are evidence-based, Medicaid-endorsed programs.

Hillsgrove Clubhouse

Hillsgrove Clubhouse is a mental health recovery program operated by members and staff in partnership.  Our working community helps people to overcome social isolation and loneliness, develop a life of meaningful purpose, achieve education and career goals, and attain mental health recovery.  Hillsgrove Clubhouse is accredited through Clubhouse International and is the only accredited clubhouse in Rhode Island.

The Veteran Services Coordinator provides guidance to those that served and their families in order to identify qualifying benefits post-service. Veteran specific care is designed to strengthen support networks and provide peer-to-peer assistance and veteran specific case management. 

Thrive staffs five state-owned group homes for Rhode Islanders diagnosed with mental health or co-occurring disorders needing a structured, supported, higher level of care coordination as they work on their recovery goals. Additionally, Thrive manages 16 supported apartments, staffed 24/7, for people who may need more assistance with independent areas such as medication monitoring, budgeting, or psychiatric services.

Thrive Behavioral Health has partnered with Medical Transportation Management (MTM), the leading provider of non-emergency medical transportation services (NEMT) in Rhode Island. 

Program Eligibility

  • Medicaid recipients can receive rides to appointments with Medicaid-covered health care providers if you have no other way to get there.
  • Non-Medicaid enrollees who qualify for the Elderly Transportation Program (ETP can receive rides to medical services.

Participants in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program/RI Works can receive monthly bus passes to pursue employment opportunities.

Thrive provides on-site, board-certified adult psychiatrists that conduct medication evaluations and ongoing medication management for clients.
